About Psych&
P. van Vliet - Psych& was founded after graduating from the Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology (minor: Developmental Psychology) in 2020. Partly due to the high waiting times within the mental health system
as well as the demand for a different type of psychological care. During and after the bachelor, Patty took several courses and studies within Analytical Psychology and followed the (pre-)master in the direction of Lifespan Psychology.
Each person is unique, and has their own story, each needs their own unique approach. What works for one person may not necessarily work for another.
The goal of Psych& is to help people (re)connect with their true Self. As an Applied Analytical Psychologist & Mystic
, Patty helps people - young and old - to stand in their own power, through creating consciousness.

The name Psych& was not chosen by accident.
In a nutshell, of course, Psych stands for our human psyche. The '&' stands for 'and more'.
A more comprehensive explanation of Psych& can be found in mythology, philosophy and, of course, psychoanalysis. Psyche is originally an ancient Greek word (ψυχή). In ancient Greek, psyche is translated as Soul, in addition, the word psyche was also used to indicate ‘butterfly’. The development from caterpillar to butterfly was seen in classical antiquity as a parallel for our inner life.
Within Greek mythology, Psyche was the wife of Eros, the god of Love and beauty desire (also known as Cupid or Amor). The fairy tale of Belle and the Beast has similarities to this mythological story. For example, Psyche is not allowed to see her husband-whom she is married to, and through whom she is technically held captive-by. Belle is not allowed to see the true face of beast. Both of these serve as teachings to come to their own power (from the soul, the self) and not be seduced by outside beauty.
The more comprehensive explanation of “&,” finds its source in Carl G. Jung's definition of the term psyche. Jung believed that in order to fully understand the psyche one had to explore not only the field of psychology. Philosophy, religion, mythology, dreams, music, alchemy and the mystical are draarom also important factors within psych&.
Besides being a psychology graduate, my natural interest lies in religion, dreams, philosophy, mythology and mysticism. At Psych&, the & stands for all of these fields of study which, in addition to psychology, are reflected in Psych&'s pathways and sessions.

THIS IS ME!
How she came, where she is today?
Patty is born in Holland in a place called Gouda.
She entered a spiral of various challenging events from the age of 7. Therefore, she began the search for her own inner strength at an early age. Patty was also 7 when she started theater. Those who know her from this time until about 18 will undoubtedly remember her as someone who was constantly singing
.
"Even though I lived in the shadows at times, I always had my upliftment and gratitude"

After high school -still not knowing what it was she wanted to do - she chose to study entertainment.
During this education Patty worked and lived in Italy and Spain for long periods of time. Here she got to taste many of those cultures, played in shows and even made productions.
"When I came home from a period abroad, it was as if time had stood still here. What was really the case, of course, was that I had gone through a transformation, and my mindset had changed."

She made her career switch as a result of realizing that she had actually been involved with psychology and philosophy all her life.
Although she is very modest about this herself, she has been moving people almost all her life. Her interest in religion, philosophy, occult, dreams and mysticism were always present and “dare to be different, dare to be yourself” was already her motto during her childhood. Even then, as a hobby, she read books, scientific articles and reference works by Carl G. Jung and Sigmund Freud and many other psychological and philosophical luminaries. This was actually already the beginning of Psych&.

Patty sees how many people struggle with the search for themselves and their true purpose, which makes her genuinely sad. Patty's deepest intention is to use Psych& to allow each person's inner strength to blossom (again) and let them experience it, and direct them to there true 'self'. She does this by providing keys/tools. Her questions are deep, and make you think. She listens, observes. She sees you as who you are! Patty works from amplification method, through which she looks at and views things from different angles. Makes the unconscious, conscious and lets your inner magic flame again.

All this especially for you, because she believes that everyone deserves that and sees how difficult that can be in this day and age we live in.
